I am a 3rd grade teacher and I read this book to my students! They absolutely LOVED it! I think this book is wonderful because it teaches life lessons with beautifully taken pictures of the author’s goats. The only way to describe this book is wholesome, fun, and rewarding. I will definitely be reading it to my students every year!

Things I’ve Learned from a Goat! by E.G. Kight is a fun picture book that teaches life lessons for kids. Each page features either a picture of a goat or a lesson. These lessons encompass everything from eating vegetables to being kind to following your dreams. Every lesson is accompanied by a cute goat picture that demonstrates the lesson.

As soon as I saw this book featured pictures of goats, I knew I had to read it. Like the author, I strongly believe that not enough people know just how fun and adorable goats can be. Kight has truly captured the hilarious nature of goats in this short book. Each picture is a great expression of one of her goats’ personalities, and the pictures really make the simple lessons memorable.

I also enjoyed how the author added other visual elements to this book. I was worried that it would be so simple that it couldn’t hold a kid’s interest, but I am happy to be wrong on that point. Each page features a pretty background and goat hoofprints, and the message is written in a fun font with the most important word being in a different color. All of these elements should keep even the youngest readers engaged in this book.

I am happy to rate this cute story 4 out of 4 stars. I didn’t find any issues in the book, and the author’s and editor’s professionalism and passion were obvious on every page.

I would recommend this book to parents of kids ages 2 to 6. I think this would be a great book for parents to read to their young children. Since there isn’t really a plot in the book, I don’t think older kids would be interested. However, I do think that the adorable goat pictures would help little kids remember and apply the lessons contained in this cute picture book.
